CITY AT PEACE PROUDLY PRESENTS: ALL JOKES ASIDE City at Peace is a social change organization that empowers teenagers to change their communities by raising awareness through the performing arts. Through as many ups and downs imaginable this years cast has produced our culminating original musical ALL JOKES ASIDE, a show that we at City at Peace are very excited about. Help us promote the awareness and activism that will result in social change. Do your part to help stop racism, violence, sexism, adultism and oppression. Invite a friend, come get involved, check us out at CPnational.org, but whatever you do join us on June 20th, and 21st at 7:00pm in the Independence Park Theater for the performance of ALL JOKES ASIDE.

ARTMELT 2008 - 5th ANNIVESARY!!! Deadline extended CTE: May 26th!!!
Forum 35 Announces Multi-Media Juried Art Competition Deadline for art submissions is Tuesday, May 20th Forum 35 announces the 5th annual Art Melt: A Fusion of Art, Music and Forum 35, showcasing Louisiana artists and is currently seeking original artwork submissions. Artists must be 18 or older and must reside in Louisiana. Last year, this juried art show drew more than 500 submissions and 6,000 attendees. This year’s July 11 event to be held at the Shaw Center for the Arts in downtown Baton Rouge is poised to be even larger. All selected works will be on display for one week and available for purchase. Prizes will be awarded for first place ($2,000), second place ($1,000) and third place ($500). In the coming weeks, the artmelt.org Web site will be updated with online submission capability as well as information about the juried competition, event, deadlines, rules, eligibility, fees and entry requirements. All artists are encouraged to pay entry fees and enter all works online. Selected pieces will also be able to be viewed online.
